CREATE BLOG.
Every reader is invited to the blog party. Is it hard to create a blog? No. It's fucking impossible. I remember my first effort...it was my second effort, LOL.
The main thing about creating a blog is that the blog is unborn. Not live. Waiting in some digital womb. The whole thing is private. And it's a bloody good job, too.
Behind the wrapping, there's a lumpy self-assembly gift with some instructions. I fucked around and fucked around with templates and designs and size and shape and form and no form and lack of this and much of that.
The blog you see today is pretty much the blog I started with. Recent changes were minor. Over time, things change. Not for the sake of change...
You just learn a different way of handling things. Or the service itself goes through changes. Blogger's backstage interface used to be very blue. And I grew used to it.
Then it lost all that blue stuff. There's probably a flight simulator that lets you bring it back. Skype upgraded last night, and I didn't know where the fuck I was with that.
What was wrong with the other way? Nothing.
Well. Here we are. On this blog. It is a blog about writing. And that writing is being done. But blogging about it...is taking some effort.
I sat staring at the invitation. Everyone who comes to this blog, who visits a Blogger place, every person is invited to create a blog. On any topic. Or no topic.
WordPress looks different. There's an exhortation to create a free site, at the bottom of a WordPress page blog.
I was staring at the blog, and the minor changes, anyway, and that's what I was looking at. CREATE BLOG. So what are you waiting for, writers?
Go and create a blog. Do it in private. Muck around with the look of it. Build that self-assembly gift, with some instructions. And wrap it up for your readers to open.
