HOW TO READ A KINDLE BOOK.

Though I'll blog this, it will slide down the blog archive into the mists. For that misty reason, I'll recreate this post on a fixed page.

How to read a Kindle book?
That's easy. Every Kindle book advertised on the Amazon Kindle Store is readable right there - just click to look inside. You'll read the first tenth of the book right there, absolutely free.
   Then what?
If you don't have a Kindle, yes, you can buy a Kindle from the evil robots at Amazon. Ahem, cough, that is, I mean, from the nice evil robots at Amazon.
But if you don't want to buy a physical machine, you can simply download the free app for the device you are operating. Or for all your devices.
   No Kindle required.
   I'll go further.
There are different ways of reading Kindle books. I'm not talking about reading a Kindle book on a Kindle device, a PC, a laptop, a phone, or all of those...and any other fun gadgets that come along in future. No...
And I'm not talking about reading an e-book underwater or skydiving...
I'm talking about the price as you read.
You can see plenty of free Kindle books on sale. Go to the Amazon Kindle Store. Download the free reading app. Search for free books. Download a few, just to gain a feel for the system.
There are offers. Permanently free books. Temporary freebies. Discount deals. You can even pay full price for the book, damn it. Support the author.
But if it's a lumbering turd of a book you picked, well, you can send it back for a refund within seven days from Amazon.com, and within fourteen days for Amazon.uk.
   Yes, you read that right.
It's a system that's designed to save you from purchasing the wrong bloody thing. And I've used the system for returning accidental clicks.
I covered the basics for you. Amazon keeps adding offers. If you didn't know how to tackle an e-book, well, you have the idea now. Download the reading app free. Click a few free books. All the fun of reading paper, with extra features thrown in.
In-built dictionaries. Popular highlighted passages. Notes added by the public. Put the phone down and continue reading the same book on your laptop. And so on.
Don't be daunted, if you've never gone near an e-book before. Go near one now. Free.
